Lightning Policy:

Region 166 has a Strict lightning policy and it must be adhere too. Coaches may lose his or her coaching privilege if he or she does not follow this Policy.

If there is any lightning visible anywhere in the sky practice and/or games must end. The kids/parents/coaches need to get off the field immediately. Do not stay on or near the field and discuss anything!

"END" MEANS GET EVERYONE IN THEIR CARS AND GO HOME, NOW!!!

The safety of our children comes before anything else!

Pet Policy:

No pets allowed ever!

Everyone loves pets. It's fun to bring your family pet to your child’s game and practice.  However, it is an AYSO policy that disallows anyone from bringing pets (especially dogs) to any AYSO function. This is a potential safety hazard and you will be asked to leave your child’s game or practice because of it.

Please leave all animals at home and come enjoy your child achieve success at the worlds greatest game. I'd hate to see you miss the next great achievement in your child’s life.

Player Injuries:

If your child is injured during practice or games and they need medical attention. The first thing you need to do is get care for the injury. Once that's done you will need to contact the safety director for the proper S.A.I.(soccer accident insurance) forms and we will fill them out together. It is very important that once a child is hurt that I am notified.

If you are a Coach, it is also a very good idea to record all injuries from your team in a note book. No matter how small a cut, bruise, sprain, or strain it might be. I don’t need to be contacted concerning this but it will help you monitor your teams issues.

First Aid Kits:

First Aid is available complements of Region 166 and REMSA.They will be passed out at our mandatory coaches meeting in August of 2005. One per team.

It's also a good idea to have available in your coaching bag a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to clean up blood stains.

Remember if a player gets cut or has a bloody nose during a game or practice, they can not return to play until the cut is cleaned, covered, and all blood is removed from the uniform.

Pre Game Goal Inspection

Please remember that it is the coaches responsibility to inspect the Goals prior to each game.  As part of this process, please make sure that the goals are properly anchored.  Stakes for the goals will be in each equipment locker.  If there are any issues with the safety of the goals, please advise the referee prior to commencement of the game.

Please feel free to email me with any question about this or any other safety issue.

Good Luck this season and be safe!
